Real Estate Update for 3/29

This is what we call an offer… it’s what my agent thinks will give us an advantage over other homes…

Mortgage Flyer

In case I didn’t mention it, already, my neighbors have taken down their for sale sign.  I hope this is because they have sold it and I don’t have to worry about them undercutting the price anymore.  Dirty pool.  Don’t like it.

It has been on the market for a week and a half now… It has been shown only 2 times that I know of.  The visiting agents leave a business card when they show the house.  My agent probably doesn’t have to because he is not a visiting agent.  If he has shown it, I am not aware.  But, we all realize that it will take some time for it to be shown a lot.

Check it out

This is what my kitchen table looks like now…

Real Estate Update for 3/26

I did quite a bit of repair to my house yesterday.  Spot painting.  I have taken down everything from my walls except the shelves holding my surround sound speakers.  I have to keep them up.  I have to have my surround sound!

I got a surprise visit from a real estate agent.  She showed my house.  So, this is showing number 2.  I had to get it ready, though.  I had been working on it and it was a bit of a mess.

Hopefully, it will sell in a couple of months.  I still need some time to get myself together before I can move.  Maybe, by then, I will be employed in Huntsville first…

Real estate update

My neighbors with the low sale price… the “for sale” sign is down. Perhaps it sold?

An agent (and not my agent) showed my house on Friday. This is the first time it has been shown.

Today, when I wake up, I will be continuing the deconstruction of the personalization of my house. I have already taken everything down from the walls (they still need patched and painted) and pulled down all of the collectibles from the tops of my kitchen cabinets and washed them. Tomorrow, I get to pack all of this away and put in my attic. Tonight, truly is the first night of the realization that I am, indeed, moving again.

More real estate …

This is clearly an act of war! Just kidding… how dare they price their house so low!

My Damn Neighbors

The MLS# for my house is: 3445194

Notice that my house is exactly 10,000 more than the neighbor’s house… sure, they have a few more upgrades, but mine is a 3 bedroom, theirs is a 2 bedroom…

At least I have Re/Max behind my house. And I hope that gives me an advantage, but a 10,000 advantage? Hopefully, their house will sell soon and get that out of the way…

Real estate is an odd deal… (and other news)

On the house front… My next door neighbors who are selling their house “by owner” are undercutting the rest of us on price. Their house is priced at 152,900… a full 10,000 less than mine and up to 12,000 less than some other houses…

“What is wrong with their house,” you might be asking… well, by the stats, it has far more upgrades than mine. (Theirs is a two bedroom, whereas mine is a 3 bedroom.) My real estate agent doesn’t seem to think it’s a big deal, but in his words, “it won’t help.”

“What does theirs have that yours doesn’t?” Well, I am glad you asked…but why would I tell you. It might make you more interested in it than in mine. The sooner theirs sells, the better it is for the rest of us. You wouldn’t want to be my neighbor, anyway. I bet my neighbors are glad I am moving… well, I am glad I am moving, too.

On the job hunt… I have received word from one of the prospective employers that my resume is “under review” for one of the positions that I applied for from them. And I have submitted a proposal to my current employer for remote working. And I have that job at DirecTV that I can get. So, perhaps, everything will be just fine.

But for right now… I am watching “Dirty Jobs” on Discovery. Mike Rowe is so damn funny, it hurts. If only I were as funny as him. We share the same first name and he’s on my MySpace friends list!
