Just wanted for all of my friends to know about King’s X. This band has been around for some 24 or so years… yet, most people haven’t heard of them. This is a shame… so as I listen to them this morning, I thought I’d share a note on them and urge you to at least visit their MySpace page and listen for yourself…
They have a great discography and are due to put out a new cd this year.
I have only seen them twice. The first time was opening for Dream Theater and Joe Satraini. Kevin and I went to that show and was late due to the wonderful MARTA system here in Atlanta. But that was my first taste of them. Only saw about 15 minutes of their set but immediately went out and picked up “Dogman.” Since then, I have picked up more than half of their discography. None of them disappoint.
I saw them here at Smith’s Olde Bar… such a small venue for such a powerful band… and for not playing for a large crowd, they put more into their show than most bands do. This, I can really appreciate. Probably one of my favorite shows that I have been to.
So, do yourselves a favor and give them a try… and if you like them, spread the word…
