Tropical Storm Zeta

The remnants of Hurricane Zeta came through North Georgia on Thursday morning and left quite a bit of people without power, etc. We were unaffected for the most part. We didn’t lose power nor internet. I had to goto the Jeep dealer this morning and encountered several traffic lights that were out and I saw several downed trees in yards.

I took my dog for a short walk today and took a few pictures of our neighborhood. Nothing major but so many leaves and branches in the road. I did find a downed tree and trash cans that were blown over. I knew that our cans might get blown over, so I decided to not put them out today and wait until next week.

So, here go the pictures…

I realize how blessed we are to not have any damage here; nor loss of power or internet or anything else… Cold temps are coming and I couldn’t imagine being without power for our heater or cooking. I remember having ice storms in Huntsville and our power would be out for a week at a time and I will never take it for granted that I have power.

Hell, I remember it raining hard with a little thunder-n-lightening and the power going out because Huntsville Utilities just didn’t want to replace the power transformer that kept failing. They’d repair it or whatever and as long as the lights came back on, they were satisfied. I think at one point, it became so damaged that it HAD to be replaced and we rarely had a power outage after that. It affected everyone on our side of Sheri Drive and the adjacent side of Davies Drive behind us.

I know some of you are without power and I pray you get power back soon.
