The Biography From the AOLAF Program

Bob was a graduate of Lee High School in Huntsville and he attended St. Bernard College in Cullman. He worked for Chrysler Corporation for 28 years.

Bob was involved in his local union, UAW Local 1413, in many ways. He organized the Community Services Committee and at one time chaired both the Community Services and Consumer Afairs Committees. Bob led his committee members in organizing Local 1413's annual auction and yard sale, with proceeds going to a different charity every year. He never complainedabout unpaid hours he spend helping others in anyway he could.

Brother Molenda served as a board member of Christmas Charities Year Round for eleven years and one year as Board President. He served as Chairman of the food program for fourteen years.

Bob was also the author of two books. His first, Help Me if You Can, was about all of the different United Way Agencies and personal stories of those involved. He donated 50% of the proceeds to the United Way. Bob's love for his father was evident in his second book, From the Brink of a Living Hell, which chronicled his father's experiences during WWII.

Bob was an avid University of Alabama and Atlanta Braves fan and though he spent a lot of time helping others, he always found time to laugh and enjoy the games with his many friends.

Bob Molenda was a great asset to the community in which he lived and worked. There is a big void in the lives of his family and many friends, because Bob was love and admired by many, and is missed by all.
