I Just Love Metro-Atlanta Traffic (08/20/2007)

First day back from vacation on Monday, I run into some of the heaviest traffic EVER on GA 141. Just in time for me to be 15 minutes late to work at the new location… I left at 7:45 and got to work at 9:15… Yes, that is 1 hour and 30 minutes… luckily, it only took 30 minutes to get home (taking 400 instead of 141 but my gym is on 141 so I have to take it tomorrow).

This is when it was getting a little better…

Roadside Memorials III

This is part three in a series (Part I and Part II)…

So, on to part III.  I saw this one (which I assume is newly erected) on Monday and it took until yesterday to get a picture of it… it’s kind of blurry, but that is a teddy bear on it.   a) I was moving when I took it and b)  my windshield is pretty dirty.

Must be another one for a child… very, very sad… 🙁

Sometimes, I feel like Shrek…

Physically:
We are both large guys… looks like we’ve had one too many beers on a late Saturday night. I might not be green, but I am some sort of redneck brown.

Personality:
We both seem to try to be mean, but some people just won’t accept it. They think we are nice. Try to scare people away and they just look at us like we’re just strange…

Friends:
Well, I don’t have an annoying talking animal or any animal for that matter. But we do have loyal friends and we are thankful to have them.

Girlfriend:
Well, this is where we vary. Maybe I should go find a castle and look in the highest room in the tallest tower and there, I shall find the girlfriend that I don’t have… or my true love…

Conclusion:
So, as you can see, Shrek and I share some common traits from our physical bodies, personalities, and friends… but at least Shrek had a girlfriend whom he married. I am missing that part.

Feel free to make any relevant comments…

Sometimes, I just don’t understand people…

Particularly those who inhabit my townhouse community.  Apparently, either:

a.) They did not read the covenants

b.) They do not read the mailers we get.

c.) Just don’t care

Because the rules just don’t seem to apply to them.  Even those that aren’t a part of the covenant (such as stopping at stop signs)… simple and easy rules like:

1.) No parking on the street.  The streets in the community are narrow and don’t allow for parking on the street safely.  This is not an inconvenience issue, it’s a safety issue.

2.) No residents parking in the visitor parking.  Now, this can be tricky as those of use in the non-driveway section only have 2 parking spots assigned to our townhouse.  If we have visitors, where do they park?

3.) Other people parking in front of my townhouse.  We have assigned parking.  It pisses me off to come home and somebody visiting another home or whatever is parked in front of my townhouse.  I feel that this is not only a rule violation, but also disrespectful.

I am not going to pretend that I am perfect but I do try to be respectful of my neighbors even if they aren’t respectful of me.

Sorry, I just had to ran this morning…

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I am actually reading a book… this is amazing by most people’s standards, but I have borrowed my Mom’s book (which either me or my brother bought for her since the first 6 books were all gifts).  I have read 1 whole entire chapter so far.  Thats more chapters of any book that I have had so far.  (I skipped around a lot in the OS X book I have.)

This reading an entire book is new to me.  Even in high school, I read the cliff’s notes of a book we were supposed to read… and of course, I made C’s, D’s, and a few F’s on the tests.  Apparently, the teachers read the cliff’s notes as well… I just don’t care for old literature but I do like poems of any kind.   I even like my own.

So, as each day winds down, I will settle in with Harry Potter and try to read at least 1 to 2 chapters per night… after seeing the Order of the Phoenix movie, I had to know what happens next and I couldn’t wait an entire year until the Half-Blood Prince movie comes out… so here I am doing something I rarely do… read…

Have a great week, everybody…
