…The Movies…

Why can’t my life be a little more like the movies. You know the movies where the guy gets the girl. Even when there are bad circumstances… in the end the guy gets the girl. How does that always happen?

My life is quite the opposite. I never get the girl. No matter what the circumstances, I always watch the girl go off with somebody else. Once, just once, I want the girl to go off with me…

I wished I knew why. I wished I know how I get the girl in the end. I wished I knew the secret. Sigh. I guess it’s just the way it’s meant to be…

One last Real Estate Update until next year…

Amazing that 3 days after my listing expired, I have had 2 different agents call me wanting to represent me and another that left an information packet on my door… so, where were these agents when I actually trying to sell my house… vultures are ready to pounce on the corpse that is my house…

I am not going to list it again until after next year… so, those of you that are my friends in Georgia… you aren’t getting rid of me, yet… no matter if you want me to go or not! 🙂

Maybe some of us should get together soon and have a beer…

A dream I had…

This was last week after going to get my ultrasound on Friday…

I dreamed that I developed cancer of the gallbladder and had to have surgery to have it removed.  It turned out to benign, so that was fortunate…. while this seems like a tragic story.  No dream involving cancer is necessarily good, but this one has a happy ending.

Though I was in the hospital and required surgery, I was overwhelmed with the support of my friends.  It seemed that when I awoke from the surgery, everybody was there.  Kevin, Jennifer, Jason, Justine (my manager), Jeremy (my former manager), and even Kate came up from Florida to see me.  You might be wondering where my family is during all of this… my Mom doesn’t really travel anymore due to her medical conditions (though, I am certain under these circumstances she would find a way…).

Even though, I was restricted to a hospital bed for many days, I was actually overjoyed by the love I felt from my friends who came to visit even when it might have been a hardship to do so.

I am not sure what the meaning of the dream was… that I fear getting cancer or that I was having another one of my “i love my friends” moments…

Of course, with the cancer being benign, there was no worry of it spreading.  And I left the hospital with my friends walking beside me… (in my wheelchair!)… and through all of the trauma, I felt great as I was leaving…

Real Estate Update for 9/23

My house is officially off the market until after the first of the year.  I plan to try to almost “dump” my house to get out from under the mortgage and move into an apartment until I figure out where I am going from here…

So, you Atlantans… You haven’t gotten rid of me, yet…

My Health

Well, if you are here, then you probably want to know my current health situation. Then I know you care. Of course, I have no way to know who has stopped by. Sigh.

Anyway, here’s the lowdown…

On September 6, I had my yearly physical. I finally got to go back to the doctor’s office that I was going to before my employer changed to Kaiser Permanente (which I HATE)… ok, back to the visit… this doctor (Dr. Shah) actually sat down and listened to my concerns before starting the physical. Then the physical started. She examined me for the things that were concerning me and all appeared fine. The results of the blood tests came back last week.

There are only 3 things that stood out:

1.) My cholesterol is borderline-high. Right now, it stands at 207. The break down results in the LDL is a bit high but the HDL was normal. The doctor wants to put me on medication, but I don’t want to. Also, my triglycerides were a bit high as well. Kate has helped me figure a way that will lower my cholesterol without the need for prescription medication…thanks, Kate. I will be buying the stuff this weekend.

2.) I have an elevated liver enzyme level. I have had this since I started having regular physicals. So, I have to get yearly ultrasounds on my abdomen.

3.) My blood sugar (glucose) was very normal. This is good news due the diabetes that tends to run in my mom’s side of the family…

So, today, I went for my ultrasound. There are three things that have been found in past ultrasounds:

1.) A cyst in my left kidney which will only be an issue if it begins to hurt. So far, nothing.

2.) A “fatty” liver. In other words, I am so fat that my liver is fat. This is most likely the reason for my elevated liver enzyme levels.

3.) A polyp on my gallbladder. All I know about this is… if it gets a certain size, I will have to have surgery to get it removed. Won’t that be a hoot…

When I get the results of this year’s ultrasound, I will post a new blog post.

Thank you to whomever read this and cares about me and maybe even my health…
