The Story of My Lost and Found Phone…

As if parts of my weekend weren’t frustrating or bad enough, my phone worked itself off of my pocket walking out of the mall on Sunday.  I didn’t notice until I got part of the way down the road from the mall.  I thought maybe I left it at the Genius Bar at the Apple store or maybe on the counter…

So, I just tried to do my errand and then go home and get Dana to call my phone just in case it was in the truck but just thrown in… so, when I did get home, I rushed in and told Dana “get your phone and call mine so I can see if my phone is in truck.”  Her reply, “I have your phone.”  “No really… WHAT?”

Apparently, I did lose my phone in the parking lot.  A worker from the American Girl store found it on the way out (the mall was closing, that’s why I didn’t go back) after work.  She turned it in and the loss-prevention associate at the store found the entry called “my fabulous fiancee” in the contact list (Dana renamed herself in my list.  I have a organized way of putting my contacts in and this breaks that, but for once, I thought, “whatever.  i will leave it.” and kind of smiled.  Good thing I left it…).  The associate called the number and got Dana.  Said she must be of some importance to the person for whom the phone belongs to.  So, Dana jumped up and went to the Mall and retrieved the phone and was home before I got home.

She is a “fabulous fiancee.”

I will find out who turned my phone in and will give her some sort of reward for doing the right thing.  Even though, I found out this morning when I actually pulled it out of it’s holder that the front screen was broken… I am very happy to have the phone back.

I may be switching to Sprint because it makes financial sense in the long run for Dana and I to be on the same carrier and Sprint does have an amazing calling/data plan… Maybe tomorrow, I will be blogging about my new phone.  I have narrowed it down to: HTC Hero (based on Android) or Palm Pre.  I am not a big fan of Google, but the Hero is higher rated than the Pre, but the Pre plays better with the Mac…

So, anyway, I really appreciate it when people do the right thing.  There really are still good people out there.  Sometimes, it feels like it is getting harder to find them.
