Revisitng My Build: Cleaning Up

I actually wanted to fully disassemble and reassemble, but I don’t have any zip ties. Really, the cable management was pretty good so I didn’t want to mess with that. So, I did a smaller project.

This is what it looks like a few days ago.

It’s purple but not for long…

Inside my case. It’s a bit dirty and I want to re-paste the CPU again. I think part of the problem is the mount for the cooler block is slightly damaged so it doesn’t mount as tight as it should.

Cleaned off CPU. I probably could have done better, but oh, well…

Updated slightly…

Everything reinstalled and cleaned up. I see where I missed some spots. I did this in kind of a rush.

Here it is now. The web said this was “Crimson” but it just looks like a lighter purple to me. I tried many different combos of RGB and only red was close to Crimson…. But I think I’ll leave like this for now.

I ran some tests and the thermals aren’t that much better but I feel better with the re-paste job I did. I finally cleaned the glass so It definitely looks better. Probably the next time I do this is after getting a new case, perhaps? I am very content with the parts and performance that I am getting. That means it will be some time before I do this again OR I just really want to build a gaming PC and this is the only one I have to build…

So, until the next one… good-bye.
