Certifications and Quarantine

During the quarantine and my furlough from Fry’s Electronics, I have decided to use my time wisely. I began studying for my CompTIA Network+ certification. But first, I needed to renew my CompTIA A+ certification. I realized that by obtaining my Network+ that it would also renew my A+. Unfortunately, I did not have the proper amount of time to obtain my Network+ before my A+ expiration date… Thus, I used CE credits to renew my A+ and then set my sights on my Network+.

After studying using a series of videos on YouTube from “Professor Messer”, a study guide I purchased from Professor Messer, and a set of practice tests I purchased from Udemy. I was able to pass my certification exam. But it doesn’t end there, I was informed by CompTIA that I also now have the CIOS (CompTIA IT Operations Specialist) badge. This certifies the “achievement of multiple CompTIA certifications within an IT career-focused pathway”.

I am proud of myself and very happy that I was able to use this time for something construction and something that I feel like will enhance my future career opportunities.
