Unboxing My New M4 Mac mini

I finally decided that even though I was able to make this elaborate “docked” MacBook Air, that it became very frustrating. When it worked, it worked well. But when it didn’t, well, I didn’t take it well. I felt as though I would need a full dock instead of these interconnected hubs and “docks” that I had. [note: I forgot that I never posted about this setup…]. A good dock costs almost as much as the Mac mini and of course, no performance gain.

So, here is the unboxing of that Mac mini. I bought the base model with the M4 chip, 16GB unified RAM, 256GB SSD (yes, it’s small but I have plenty of connected external storage) and I brought my own keyboard, mouse and monitor.

This Mac is impossibly small and the CPU is on par with my desktop CPU and in some instances, faster. Very impressive.

Here is is on my desk. Another sneak peak into my new desk setup.

And that’s it. It is a fantastic computer. I will post more about it later…
