Where do I start?\u00a0 I guess January 1, 2009, I suppose… \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
Actually, the year started off pretty well.<\/p>\n
January<\/strong> February<\/strong> We had an amazing Valentine’s day<\/a>.\u00a0 I finally got to go to Stoney River!\u00a0\u00a0 Just about the best steak I have ever had.<\/p>\n April<\/strong> We went down to the Savannah area where her brother lives for her nephew’s 4th birthday.<\/p>\n May, June and July<\/strong> Then, the Mentone trip<\/a> where Dana and I got engaged<\/a> over Memorial Day Weekend.<\/a><\/p>\n Followed up by a trip to Huntsville to celebrate my birthday a couple of weeks early but I ended up going to Huntsville on my birthday weekend anyway.\u00a0 (I was worried that there might be bachelor party activities on that particular weekend… but we did it the night before the wedding.\u00a0 Crazy, eh?)<\/p>\n The next week, Dana’s Aunt from Ohio came to visit and we went to Cartersville and to Barnsley Gardens<\/a>.\u00a0 Oh, and by the way, we nailed down our reception place during her Aunt’s visit.<\/p>\n Followed up by a trip to Huntsville to celebrate my birthday since that weekend was my birthday!<\/p>\n The next weekend, there were 2 weddings… on the 26th, my best friend in all of Georgia got married.\u00a0 I was the best man.\u00a0 Then, my friend, Jeremy got married on the 27th.<\/p>\n Followed by yet another trip to Huntsville for the 4th of July<\/a>…\u00a0 Dana went with me and we had fun with Robert and Brad.<\/p>\n Then, another trip to Huntsville for me.\u00a0 That was 4 trips to Huntsville in a 7 week period.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, during June, we began our meetings with Deacon Bill as part of our pre-marital counseling as required by the Catholic Church.<\/p>\n The final three weekends of July were a much needed break from traveling…\u00a0 I did get to see two of my favorite bands in concert on back-to-back nights: Tool<\/a> and Dream Theater.<\/a><\/p>\n August<\/strong> I got us tickets to the Paul McCartney show<\/a> at Piedmont Park for Dana’s birthday present.\u00a0 Well, originally, I got her a ticket for Crue Fest 2,<\/a> but once I found out that McCartney was coming, we were going!<\/p>\n September<\/strong> October<\/strong> November<\/strong> We also took a trip up to Amicalola Falls<\/a>.\u00a0 It was a very pretty and a very relaxing day.\u00a0 We really needed that.\u00a0 The year had been pretty hectic so far, but there was a month and a half to go.<\/p>\n We started our meetings with our sponsor couple from the Church.\u00a0 We got in two of the five required meetings<\/p>\n We spend Thanksgiving Day at Dana’s Mom’s, the first time Dana had been home on Thanksgiving Day for several years.\u00a0 Followed by me going to Huntsville for Thanksgiving with my family and time to put up Mom’s Christmas decorations…<\/p>\n December<\/strong> Summary<\/strong> For more pictures and some video, visit my Mobile Me Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Where do I start?\u00a0 I guess January 1, 2009, I suppose… \ud83d\ude09 Actually, the year started off pretty well. \nWe took a trip down to St. Augustine, FL<\/a>.\u00a0 It’s somewhere that Dana had always wanted to go and I was able to make it happen for her.<\/p>\n
\nDana was hot on the trail of a job that would finally bring her to Alpharetta…. by the time February ended, she was here.\u00a0 Though she had moved here, we only lived together part-time with her spending the rest of her time at her Mom’s.<\/p>\n
\nWe had a very fun outting with Kevin and Family to go bowling<\/a>… something we need to do again! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
\nWe began a long stretch of being away from home and\/or complete weekend plans.\u00a0 Beginning with going to Huntsville for Decoration Day and then I went back for Mother’s Day (where I showed my Mom the ring I bought for Dana).<\/p>\n
\nOn Dana’s Birthday, we went to Ohio for her family reunion (father’s side).\u00a0 We stopped at Cumberland Falls in Kentucky <\/a>on the way up.\u00a0 I had a pretty good time even though I rarely attend family reunions<\/a>.<\/p>\n
\nI finally got my vacation.\u00a0 I spend the first half of it at home relaxing and time away from Atlanta traffic and the last half of it in Huntsville.<\/p>\n
\nWe saw RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles<\/a> and spend the long Columbus Day weekend in Savannah, where we stayed with her friend, Aimee.\u00a0 We also participated in the AIDS Walk Atlanta<\/a>.<\/p>\n
\nWe went to the Star Wars in Concert<\/a>.\u00a0 My first live Orchestra event… It was pretty cool.\u00a0 Familiar music and it was Star Wars!<\/p>\n
\nIt’s Christmas time!\u00a0 We went to my Mom’s for 3 nights to celebrate with my family and then going to her Mom’s on Christmas Day.\u00a0 Again, she had not been home on Christmas Day in many years.<\/p>\n
\nThis is by no means everything that we did during the year.\u00a0 Just the ones that I had pictures and posts for \ud83d\ude09\u00a0 Anyway, it was a great year with great friends, both here and in Huntsville.\u00a0 I really wish that I could properly show how much all of you, my friends, mean to me.\u00a0\u00a0 So, if I had a glass here I would raise a toast to all of you.\u00a0 To the past, the present, and the future that we always remain friends…<\/p>\n
