Well, what can I say?\u00a0 This is the closest to seeing the Beatles many of us will ever get to see.\u00a0 I am not counting seeing Paul McCartney or Ringo in concert (though, that is obviously more exciting…).\u00a0 Dana and I got there early enough to get a look at the Fox, which is amazing.\u00a0 That building is beautiful.\u00a0 We spent some time looking around.<\/p>\n

The show started at about 8PM… There were basically 5 section of the show…<\/p>\n

1.) The Ed Sullivan Show.
\nThe band had the same stage look as the Ed Sullivan show set.\u00a0 They were wearing the suits and had the moptops that the Beatles were famous for in the early part of their career… They played many of the songs that defined them during that era including “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “I Saw Her Standing There” and “Help.”<\/p>\n

2.) The Shea Stadium Show.
\nThis was probably the largest crowd ever at the old Shea Stadium… featuring songs from albums like “A Hard Day’s Night.”<\/p>\n

3.) Sgt Peppers Era.
\nThey had the Sgt Peppers outfits and everything… that was the most amazing part of the show for me (as Sgt Peppers is my second fave Beatles album…).\u00a0 Of course they played several songs from Sgt Pepper’s and The White Album.<\/p>\n

4.) Flower Power
\nThis waw the “peace and love” section of the show.\u00a0 If I remember right, they played some Lennon songs like “Imagine” and “Give Peace a Chance.”\u00a0 Along with songs like “All You Need is Love.”<\/p>\n

5.) Abbey Road
\nThe end of the Beatles era and the end of the show… This included songs such as “Get Back” and “Come Together.”<\/p>\n

Encores… of course there was an encore, and a pretty long one, too…
\nThis is when they played “Let it Be” and “Hey Jude” with quite a bit of audience participation.<\/p>\n

What Was truly amazing about the show was how they represented different eras of the Beatles career, not only with the change of sets, but change of outfits and looks… Each of the Beatles transformed from the moptops to being very individual over the course of their time with the Beatles and that is, I think, a big part of why they “broke up.”\u00a0 They were just much different people at the end than at the beginning.\u00a0 It’s not all bad they parted… some amazing music some from each of them individually…<\/p>\n
