{"id":426,"date":"2009-08-31T10:34:53","date_gmt":"2009-08-31T14:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mmolenda.com\/oldblog\/?p=426"},"modified":"2009-08-31T10:37:20","modified_gmt":"2009-08-31T14:37:20","slug":"review-of-crue-fest-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mmolenda.com\/oldblog\/?p=426","title":{"rendered":"Review of Crue Fest 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dana and I got there a little later than planned due to me and my navigational skills.\u00a0 well, in my defense, the sign off of the exit that said which way to go was partially hidden by a tree limb.\u00a0 I took the wrong direction and after a bit, I realized that we should have been there already&#8230; so, by the time we got there, we missed Charm City Devils (which we had planned to miss) and all but 2 songs from Drowning Pool&#8217;s set (which we wanted to see)&#8230; that sets the stage for the rest of the review.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"width: 501px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.me.com\/webpoet73\/100258\/CrueFest2_002\/web.jpg?ver=12516534700001\" alt=\"Dana and I after getting seated on the lawn\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dana and I after getting seated on the lawn<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Drowning Pool<\/strong>: Entertaining.\u00a0 They did do that song that most everybody knows, &#8220;Bodies.&#8221;\u00a0 You know&#8230; let the bodies hit the floor&#8230; but I am still not a fan.\u00a0 I probably wont&#8217; be buying any DP music soon.\u00a0 [I did like the ode to Metallica they did at the very end with a snippit of &#8220;Creeping Death.&#8221;\u00a0 Nice touch.]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"width: 501px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  \" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.me.com\/webpoet73\/100258\/CrueFest2_001\/web.jpg?ver=12516534640001\" alt=\"Drowning Pool\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Drowning Pool<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nTheory of a Deadman: <\/strong>Good, but they sound similar to Drowning Pool.\u00a0 The final two songs they played, &#8220;Hate My Life&#8221; and &#8220;Bad Girlfriend&#8221; were the best 2 of the set.\u00a0 Dana seemed to like them, but I was, &#8220;meh.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div style=\"width: 501px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  \" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.me.com\/webpoet73\/100258\/CrueFest2_003\/web.jpg?ver=12516534770001\" alt=\"Theory of a Deadman\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Theory of a Deadman<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Godsmack:<\/strong> I will start off by saying, I don&#8217;t get why they are so popular.\u00a0 Even their music was sort of similar to the 2 bands that preceeded them.\u00a0\u00a0 The crowd seemed to be really into them except me, of course.\u00a0 The songs were ok.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div style=\"width: 501px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.me.com\/webpoet73\/100258\/CrueFest2_011\/web.jpg?ver=12516535580001\" alt=\"Godsmack\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Godsmack<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The best part of the set was the &#8220;drumming duet&#8221; towards the end of the set with a nice medley of covers including Black Sabbath, Rush, AC\/DC, Led Zeppelin.\u00a0 Funny how the best of their set, to me, was the covers&#8230;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 501px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.me.com\/webpoet73\/100258\/CrueFest2_013\/web.jpg?ver=12516535700001\" alt=\"\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dueling Drummers<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I will say that they were very entertaining.\u00a0 Much more than when I saw them on Ozzfest 2000 (where after the lead singer told us to &#8220;get up or get the fuck out&#8221;.\u00a0 I made sure I sat right there and stare.\u00a0 How dare they say some bs like that&#8230; and by the way, when Pantera took the stage afterwards, everybody stood up.\u00a0 Nice!).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Motley Crue:<\/strong> Ah, the reason I was there.\u00a0 It makred the return of Tommy on the skins due to a hand injury.\u00a0 The Crue was pretty tight and Vince was decent.\u00a0 He is not the same singer he was in the 80&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<div style=\"width: 501px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  \" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.me.com\/webpoet73\/100258\/CrueFest2_016\/web.jpg?ver=12516536080001\" alt=\"Motley Crue ... Dr. Feelgood\" width=\"491\" height=\"369\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Motley Crue ...
