I worked a half-day from home and the rest of the day, I just rested. I did get a chance to watch a couple of movies, however. I didn’t go to the gym, obviously, because of the soreness of my calves.

Tuesday
I went to work but was still limping a little. There was a nice wreck on 400N at around Abernathy (Exit 5) so, I decided to exit 285 at Ashford-Dunwoody by Perimeter mall and take a “short cut” and try to get on 400N above the wreck by getting on Abernathy… well, this backfired because it was really backed up once I got on Abernathy near 400. I decided to skip 400N at that point and go across to 9 (which I think is Roswell Road at that point) and take that up to Holcomb Bridge (Exit 7) and get on 400 there and all-in-all, a 45 minute commute became a 80 minute commute. That’s why we all love Atlanta.

Wednesday
Well, actually, this in retrospect was a good day. I went to the gym and had a nice full workout. To have a good day at this point was refreshing.

Thursday
A little rain on the roads. During the drive home, I looked on the Georgia Navigator and saw stalls and wrecks on 285 around GA400, so I decided to take Peachtree Industrial as an alternate. But I got near it and after putting my blinker on to get over into the far right lane and some jerk wouldn’t let me over, so I slowed up and then (as I thought he’d do, he got into my lane without a blinker… ARGH. Use your damn blinkers!!!) I got over into the right lane and noticed that the cars were stopped about 3 or 4 car lengths in front of me. I slammed my brakes and slid to a stop in the emergency lane. When my car came to a complete stop, the front end of my car was about even with the front seats of the car in front of me. A major wreck avoided that should even have been an issue if the guy beside me would have just let me over.

Friday
I was on my way to the gym and while sitting at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway (141) and Jay Bird Alley, a Mini-Cooper came flying across the intersection and slammed into a Jeep Cherokee right in front of me. It was pretty violent wreck and after going past it after my light turned green, I felt bad and like I should go back and witness it. So, I turned around and went back. I sat in the parking lot at the Walgreen’s there and called Dana for some advice. After our talk, I decided to go ahead and offer witness to the wreck. I approached the officer and they didn’t need me. I was pretty clear what happened. One of the occupants or both of the Mini-Cooper were taken away in an ambulance (and if you saw the wreck, you’d know why…)

Saturday
I got on my desktop for a quick internet session before going driving to Huntsville to find that it has a major hard-drive problem. It has crashed. Inevitably due to the power outage that apparently happened during the rainstorm on Thursday. I didn’t get a chance to fully fix it. Hopefully, tonight, I will get a chance to work on it. At the beginning of this year, I had 3 working computers. At of the writing of this blog, I have one… my loyal and sexy MacBook.

I tried to have a nice drive from Georgia to Alabama, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Just a lot of inconsiderate drivers. I made it here in a decent amount of time but very frustrated.

Driving used to be fun but now it’s just another necessary evil. Why can’t something that was as fun as driving become some people make it impossible to enjoy…

Monday The soreness in my calves from my workout on Friday caused me to have trouble walking, so I stayed home from work.
