I am pretty sure we still have tne 10 minutes/day for personal calls policy. Not only should she adhere to that policy, but I don’t need to know her personal business. She sure does have tne “pretend I’m working” act down really well.

I have had to jack up the volume of whatever I am listening to until I felt like my ears were about to bleed just so I don’t have to hear her voice… I have dubbed her “phonegirl” like some sort of evil villan… and that, she is.

Not only that, but she eats about 3 times dourning an 8-hour shift. We do have some guidelines about eating at our desks.

Heavy Food/Meals –
Should not be kept or consumed at your desk or near any company equipment (Desktops, phones, cables, etc.)
Must be kept or consumed in designated break areas.
Are not allowed outside the designated break areas during visits from clients or senior leaders.
Examples include, but not limited to heavy Sandwiches, Pizza, Chicken, Pasta, Shrimp, and Lobster. If unsure – ask!
*Exceptions may be authorized based on certain circumstances. Examples of exceptions include:
Approved team or unit activity/event sponsored by Management or Sunshine Committee
All day client meetings with no time to leave for a meal period

Drinks/Beverage –
Are not allowed at your desk or near company equipment (Desktops, phones, cables, etc.) unless in a sealed or spill-proof container.
No cans, open bottles or cups are allowed at any time.

Small Snacks are allowed at desk –
Include candy, gum, potato chips, peanuts, pretzels, cookies, etc.

So, what part of this allows wet cereal and/or oatmeal? She eats something in a cereal bowl at her desk quite often and I know that most of the time that it’s cereal… how do I know this? Because I hear and/or see her fill the bowl. This is because one drawer of her filing cabinet is filled with all kinds of food items…

Now, I know I am not 100% perfect since I have had cans at my desk… but not having my CokeZero can at my desk in the morning has me buying cokes out of the coke machine in the breakroom across the hall… so, it is about not having a can at our desks or me buying a coke from the machine… or else get me a “sippy cup” like a toddler… I might as well get one and walk around here going “momma…momma” cuz that’s how they seem to treat us… like children as the guidelines state:

“To avoid accidental spills, or waste which may result in unwelcome “visitors” to our current location everyone must adopt the above practices in order to maintain a clean/healthy work space. This practice is not only for the benefit of all [edited] associates, but for our neighboring businesses who share this building as well.”

Like I said… sippy cups.

Somedays, I just can’t handle phonegirl… it makes me want to jump out of a window (not lierally). Between her and me needing a sippy cup, things are just going swimmingly here at my job… keeping in mind, that we are outsiders to the Bank as we were purchaed by the Bank and are being integrated into the bank “culture.”

Either one day, we’ll not have to sit next to each other or she’ll quit… oh, how I would rejoice if she quit… I might even dance in the streets…

That’s all for my rant… thanks for reading!

Why can’t the girl that sits next to me shut her mouth? All I ever hear is her blabbing on the f**king phone all day long…
